On March 8, 1994, Willow Park Wines & Spirits opened its doors as the largest private liquor retailer in Canada. Wayne Henuset purchased our 30,000 square foot retail operation, located in Willow Park Village in Southeast Calgary, from the Alberta Liquor Control Board in 1993 during the privatization of the liquor industry.

Today, under his passionate leadership, Willow Park Wines & Spirits has grown into an entrepreneurial success story. Wayne’s vision of positioning WPWS as the “Trusted Expert” within the liquor industry is being brought to life through world-class customer service, incredible product selection, educational programs, great value products, and a desire to be a responsible and caring corporate citizen in the community.

Willow Park Wines & Spirits believes strongly in giving back, and created the Vintage Fund in 2001, which is an endowment trust managed by the Calgary Foundation. This fund has allowed WPWS to be part of many much-needed community projects, such as the building of Willow Park on the Bow, which opened its doors in 2010 to create 150 carefree living facilities for seniors.
